Income gains: Remittances versus counterfactual earnings

Here, per-migrant income gain is defined as: net remittances after transfer costs − participation cost − opportunity cost. By default, opportunity cost is set to 6 months' earnings of the selected income level in the country of origin, but you can edit it above based on the duration of the migration programme.
