This metric summarises how important a source country is to the recipients it sends remittances to, while giving more weight to its larger corridors.
Σr [(Fs,r,t / Rr,t) × (Fs,r,t / Os,t)]F is the bilateral remittance corridor value, R is total remittances received by recipient r, and O is total remittance outflows from source s.Interpretation: a higher value means the source country tends to account for a larger share of its recipients' total remittance receipts. The weighting prevents very small corridors from carrying the same influence as the source country's major corridors.
